Leaving a Legacy

A Legacy of Excellence is composed of school, business, community and nonprofit leaders from Southern Arizona supporting African American youth in the Tucson Unified School District with their ambitions for higher education!

The program began in 2010 with a single $2,000 scholarship raised from bake sales and barbeque dinners. Thanks to growing community support over the past 16 years, we have grown exponentially and expect to provide at least 10 students with $5000 cash scholarships. These awards are presented annually at our spring banquet.

Our support of these young people gives them a bit of breathing room financially and the knowledge that hundreds of people each year are cheering them on to become leaders who achieve their dreams and give back to society.
